Daily Salah, Education & Services

Our efforts will hopefully be a means of safeguarding our faith, that of our families and future generations to come.

Respected Brothers and Sisters,

The Sutton Mosque & Isamic Centre aims to foster a spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood among Muslims, and to promote the values of Islam in the society. As the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The best among you are those who have the best manners and character."²

The Sutton Masjid centre also respects and appreciates the diversity and pluralism of the Sutton community and residents. It recognises the rights and responsibilities of all citizens, and strives to contribute positively to the common good of the society. It believes that peace and respect are the foundations of a healthy and prosperous community, and that dialogue and cooperation are the keys to solving the challenges and problems that face the humanity.

As Allah says in the Quran: "O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted." (Al-Hujurat 49:13)³

Peace and respect are essential values in Islam, as well as in any civilised society. Islam teaches its followers to live in harmony and cooperation with people of other faiths and backgrounds, and to treat them with justice and kindness. The Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) provide many examples and guidelines for Muslims to interact with non-Muslims in a peaceful and respectful manner.

As Allah says in the Quran: "Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly." (Al-Mumtahina 60:8)¹
